Called the House of Secrets, the noble house founded by the legendary sorceress, Lady Eiluned, is somewhat mistrusted by other Seelie houses. Members of this house thrive on mystery and intrigue. This penchant applies to the subtle workings of Glamour as well, and House Eiluned has a reputation as formidable sorcerers and masters of Arts of Glamour. Although allied with the Seelie Court, a dark undercurrent permeates the workings of House Eiluned. Of the five Seelie houses, this one is the most familiar with its own Unseelie shadow. Indeed, if a lord or lady of House Eiluned is unable to penetrate a mystery through Seelie modes of inquiry, they are said to be able to willingly bring their Unseelie nature to the fore in order to investigate by other means. If they have not succeeded in this by the time a full day has passed, they remain Unseelie until their curiosity has been satisfied. It is this tendency which makes changelings of House Eiluned somewhat suspect, especially to the staunchly Seelie nobles of House Gwydion. For their part, House Eiluned resents the House of the Falcon for its self-righteous ways, and constantly tests House Gwydion's fitness to lead the Seelie Court.
Although no lord or lady of Eiluned's house has yet ruled as count in Rowan-Oak, the House of Secrets holds a position of influence greater than any other here. The Duchess Evelenau, to whom Rowan-Oak's countess owes fealty, is of this house, and although aloof her influence over county affairs is considerable. Likewise, while His Majesty has never shown interest in the affairs of this backwater county, it cannot be forgotten that Meilge, King of Willows, also claims Eiluned as his house of allegience. Nobles of House Eiluned hold one freehold in the fealty to the countess, and share the rule of another.
On the eastern end of the countesses own holdings, Dame Angharad ap Eiluned holds the freehold of Tyr-o-Yr Glas as a banneret's fief from the countess' hand, while at the other extreme end of the county Lady Celeste ap Eiluned shares the rule of the Barony of Baywood, which she helped to reclaim with the aid of her True-Heart, Lord Dar'Nall ap Gwydion. The Lady Celeste rules Baywood as baroness during the Seelie half of the year, surrendering the winter rule to her Unseelie consort at Samhain.
Whether as sorcerers, socialites, sovereigns or spies, House Eiluned is often the first to become embroiled in the maneuverings that lie behind current events. Driven by a relentless curiosity, members of this house meet the suspicion of other changelings with a knowing smile, and keep their own counsel.
Boon
Renowned for their command of the Arts of Glamour, all members of House Eiluned automatically gain an additional success when they cast a cantrip. Note that if the cantrip fails, this extra degree of success is forfeit as well.
Flaw
In order to avoid unwanted entanglement in an intrigue or plot, members of House Eiluned must spend a willpower point when they wish to overcome their curiosity. Also, due to their duplicitous reputation, all fae of this house increase the difficulty of all rolls employing Social Attributes by one.
Quote: "It is not my habit to court the familiarity of my vassals. I find my rule is best received when it is dispensed impartially, from a distance. There is a reason House Fiona rules in Rowan-Oak. They are trusted with the intimate concerns of their subjects. Since I am not, pray have the courtesy to respect my privacy in return."
