Seámus, Ondine of Fiddler's Green

Kithain are not the only fae who yet inhabit the Autumn World. The old powers of fire, wind, wood, water and stone yet abide, and Seámus is one of these. Anchored to a pure mountain spring which gushes from under a granite outcrop in Fiddler's Green, he serves the Empire of Tears as a philosopher and student of the complexities of emotion, particularly that persistant enigma called "the Heart Riddle".

Few know Seámus for what he is, as he is adept at disguising himself in a human-seeming husk for ventures away from his glade. The Buckthorn Tragos know and respect him, and keep his secrets well. As he grows more aware of his world, and of the changelings around him, he grows bolder. For surely it is permissible to experience kithain society, so long as one doesn't interfere. His kubera friend, Tarannon does not concur, but leaves the ondine to discover his folly on his own.

Seámus has wandered throughout the county, delighted by the numerous clear springs and pure streams of this watershed region. Of late, he is touched with worry, as drought begins to affect the flow of local springs. Still, the waters here are clean and strong, and if he watches cautiously, he does not yet despair.

In his Dreamform, Seámus is slender of build, his watery affinity showing through his green-blue, mutable coloring and hair like eel-grass. His eyes are soulful and yearning, even when his demeanor is otherwise cheerful. His husks are convincing, and save for his haunted eyes and a twisted knee which causes him to hobble somewhat, he looks like an ordinary human. When husk-riding, he completes his disguise with mortal attire borrowed from a satyr of the Tragos. Seámus is befriended by a pair of chimerical songbirds. Too flighty to serve reliably as scouts, they nevertheless produce enchanting song.
